Audio CD Replication

Replication or Duplication?

What is the difference between duplication and replication and does it matter? Well it ultimately depends on what you want to do with your finished CD and how many you need but here are our thoughts as to why audio CD replication favours over audio  CD duplication every time.

For your personal Audio CD Replication quote, complete and submit this form…

You’ve put your heart and soul into making the CD master, You’ve spent hours in the studio mixing, editing, mastering; creating a sound that’s just… right.

Now you want quantity.

You want them all to sound the same; just… right.

You want quality as well as quantity.

You want them all to work… in any CD player… every time.

It’s not rocket science is it?

You want someone to take as much care in manufacturing your CD as you’ve taken in creating it in the first place.

You’ve come to the right people. By choosing replication with Digital Disc Duplication you will GUARANTEE that all copies will play in every machine every time. By choosing audio CD duplication, it is not possible to guarantee this! In a nutshell, duplication means CD-R’s burnt (as you do on home computers) and this method produces too many compatibility variations that could prevent a particular CD player reading a particular brand of CD-R that has been burnt on a particular CD-writer etc etc. And isn’t it always the way that the particular person you really need to hear your CD has that particular player that doesn’t like that particular brand of CD-R? Well by choosing Replication you will not have that concern.

We are musicians – we understand what you’re looking for.

We’re also sound engineers – we understand how to get it and we’ll check your master for any obvious problems.

We’re also honest and straightforward – we’ll listen to your master and tell you if we think there’s a problem.

We then need to produce the glass master from your master. This is the key stage to differentiate between audio CD Replication and Duplication. In order for CD’s to be replicated this stage is an essential requirement. Look for this phrase on any quotes you have. If any quote does NOT include glass mastering then there is a good chance that quote is for duplicated CD-R’s and NOT replicated CD’s.

If we’re happy that your CD master is technically OK then we’ll take a security copy of it before processing it to a glass master (we’ve never needed it yet but we’re serious about taking care of your hard work). We then check the glass master to make sure that no errors have occurred in processing. We can now proceed to pressing with the full knowledge that every single CD that we produce will be an exact copy of your lovingly created master and they will all work… in any CD player… every time.

We also lavish the same care and attention on what the final product looks like, so we’ll check your artwork carefully to ensure that it meets all the right technical specifications. We’ll also look at it carefully and if we believe that there are any problems we’ll tell you and help you to put it right. Where appropriate we’ll supply you with revised proofs so that you can see what the final product will look like. And in the end you’ll get a great looking, great sounding product that you can be proud of… and at an affordable price. If you are looking for a professional engineer for the mastering or professional graphic designer for the artwork then look no further.
